More death in Mexico

Submitted by David Borden on
But this time it's the cops doing the killing. According to the Arizona Republic, June 21, at least 12 people died in a drug raid on a nightclub in Mexico City. The dead included 3 police officers and 9 young people, "at least 3" of them minors. Mexico City's police chief says that the police were there to "check reports of drugs and alcohol being sold to minors." Typically, he blames the deaths on somebody else -- the club's owner supposedly told the crowd that the police were there to arrest them (Duh!), causing a stampede. There were 500 people in the club and only one exit, which the police were well aware of when they came in through the only entrance. Forget the Merida Initiative; Mexico's war on her own citizens seems to be moving along just fine.
